Yesterday, I picked up the inaugural issue of the Buy Fresh Buy Local Food Guide for the Bay Area at the North Berkeley farmers' market. It's FREE and filled with those adorable old-fashioned orchard/fruit label graphics that used to mark the sides of wooden fruit crates. The folks at CAFF (Community Alliance with Family Farmers) have really done their homework - this thing is extensive! It includes an easy to read chart that tells you which produce is available in which seasons, and covers Bay Area farms, markets, restaurants, grocers, CSAs, vintners, institutions, and more.
Best of all, it's all available online at their website which lets you download a PDF of the guide for your specific county (and they cover a lot of counties).
